The full name of VDE is the German Association of Electrical Engineers, which was established in 1893. One of the important functions of the association is to develop the German National Industrial Standards (DIN standards). The VDE Testing&Certification Institute is a subsidiary of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, located in Offenbach, Germany, and was established in 1920. As one of the most authoritative and professional testing and certification institutions in the world, VDE inspects and certifies electrical products in accordance with DIN VDE standards, European EN standards, or IEC International Electrotechnical Commission standards. The VDE logo is considered the most authoritative certification mark in the field of electronic appliances and a symbol of quality. VDE completes a total of over 18000 certification projects annually for nearly 2000 German companies and nearly 3000 foreign clients. So far, nearly 200000 electrical products from 50 countries worldwide have obtained the VDE logo.
