Introduction to ETL Certification in the United States
ETL is the abbreviation for Electronic Testing Laboratories in the United States. The ETL laboratory was founded by American inventor Edison in 1896 and enjoys a high reputation in the United States and around the world. Like UL and CSA, ETL can test and issue ETL certification marks according to UL standards or US national standards, or can also test and issue composite certification marks according to UL standards or US national standards and CSA standards or Canadian standards. The 'us' in the bottom right indicates applicability to the United States, the' c 'in the bottom left indicates applicability to Canada, and both' us' and 'c' are applicable in both countries.
Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product bearing the ETL mark indicates that it has met the minimum requirements of universally recognized product safety standards in the United States and Canada, and has been tested to comply with relevant product safety standards; And it also means that the production factory agrees to undergo strict regular inspections to ensure consistency in product quality, which can be sold to the markets of the United States and Canada.
ETL also requires that its production site has been inspected, and the applicant agrees to conduct regular follow-up inspections of its factory thereafter to ensure that the product always meets this requirement.
Before issuing an ETL certificate, a new factory must be reviewed and qualified before issuing the ETL certificate. After issuing the certificate, the factory needs to be reviewed once a quarter.
