S-MARK certification

Product introduction: According to Resolution 92/98, which came into effect in 1998, Argentina implements S-Mark mandatory certification for electronic and electrical equipment with input voltages ranging from 50 to 1000 Vac AC or 50 to 1500 Vdc DC. The resolution divided the products into four groups and implemented them step by step starting from 2001. By August 1, 2004, all products must obtain S-Mark certification to enter the Argentine market. Argentina is a member country of the CB system, and the CB certificate and report are recognized, which can save a lot of trouble in repeated testing and sending samples. The Argentine S-Mark safety certification does not require factory inspections, and the applicant should provide a Spanish nameplate (including safety warning signs) and user manual. The certification agency's logo should be added next to the S-Mark logo.S-MARK Certification Technical Information1. The voltage in Argentina is AC220V/50Hz2. S-MARK Certification Program

The normalization process is a necessary measure taken to make the product immediately available in the Argentine market.

Here are some ways in which products can be launched through a 'normalization process':

·Install a suitable power cord set

·Convert the power cord group to a qualified power cord group

·Convert the power plug to a qualified Argentine plug

·Additional Argentina S-Mark logo/label

For different imported products, the assembly process can refer to the following operation methods:

1. Products with power sockets

Products that use an additional power cord set can be imported to Argentina at the discretion of the applicant, whether or not the power cord set is attached. If the power cord is not attached, it must be mentioned in the test report. If the power cord group has not been evaluated, it will also be indicated on the certificate. If an additional power cord group is added in Argentina, it is part of the certification process. The Rhine Argentina branch in Germany will adopt a 'normalization procedure' and go to the warehouse where the power plug is replaced for simplified factory inspection.

If the fixed power plug included in the imported product to Argentina is not approved by Argentine safety regulations, the local seller or importer must replace it with a plug approved by an Argentine certification unit. German company Rhine will conduct a simplified factory inspection before issuing the certificate.

3. Products without S-Mark logo or correct product label

The S-Mark logo can be attached to the product upon arrival in Argentina, but before it is launched for sale. German company Rhine will conduct a simplified factory inspection before issuing the certificate.
