PVoC certification in Kenya
1) According to Kenyan government regulations, your company's importer must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (COC) in order to complete customs clearance procedures with Kenyan customs. After completing the inspection, the original COC certificate will be sent to the exporter by express mail, or printed directly at the office of the Kenya Inspection Company and handed over to the importer.
2) Please truthfully, correctly, and completely fill out this application form and its accompanying pages, including relevant HS code, ICS code, and other information. It is the applicant's basic responsibility to correctly fill in the product description and HS code. If the product description and/or HS code are not filled in correctly, it will result in on-site inspection/testing discrepancies, making it impossible to issue a COC. The applicant will still bear the relevant costs and leave a bad credit record. Once the goods are shipped to Kenya, they will also be required to undergo rectification and fined by the Kenyan management department.

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) began implementing the Pre Export Standards Compliance Verification Program (PVoC) on September 29, 2005. The products in the PVoC catalog must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) before shipment and be provided to Kenya Customs upon arrival, otherwise they will not be able to enter the country. If there are no special circumstances with CoC, KEBS can decide to conduct inspection on the batch of goods and impose a fine.
